The number of images related to the person, life and work of Chesterton is unquantifiable. We have ordered them according to three criteria. First, the people. Gilbert’s portraits following the vital stages from childhood to old age, the images linked to his relatives, those showing his closest friends and contemporaries with whom he maintained a significant relationship. Second, places, such as schools and universities of the various academic stages, landscapes linked to their lives, neighborhoods, homes, especially London, Beaconsfield and England. Photographs related to the many trips to countries in Europe, the Holy Land, Egypt, Canada and America, and finally the most relevant images of his contemporary world of the late nineteenth century and the first third of the twentieth.
