Documentation Centre
The documentation managed by the CEDGKC consists of three parts.
1. Book Collection
The first part is the collection of physical books by and on Chesterton, gathered by Josep Carbonell and now deposited at the Biblioteca Pública Episcopal (BPEB), where they have already been catalogued.
2. CEDGKC library
The second part is the library housed at the headquarters of the G. K. Chesterton Study and Documentation Centre (Convent of the Capuchins-Pompeia; Av. Diagonal, 450), which contains specialized bibliography (books and journals) on Chesterton and his context —literary, cultural, social, religious, and journalistic— covering Britain, Europe and America and with special attention to the Catalan reception and the Hispanic world.
3. Documentary collections
The third part consists of the documentary collections (in photocopy or digital copy), also stored at the CEDGKC office, which originate in the archives of Josep Carbonell i Rodés and Sílvia Coll-Vinent. The former focuses on the life and works of Chesterton, while the latter is dedicated to research on the reception of Chesterton and other English writers in Catalonia, as well as on intellectuals, critics, and literary figures in interwar Catalonia.
